#amwriting

#amwriting, as in "I am writing", is the hashtag that writers, i.e. authors of all kinds - established, aspiring, hobbyists -, use on Twitter to share their successes and failures, their joy, inspiration, and frustration while writing.

My name is Dirk Haun. I’m a presentation coach. Consequentially, I’ve written ebooks and blog posts about presenting. Only recently have I begun to write fiction as well. I’m still learning, slowly working my way through all the mistakes that others have made before me. But they are my mistakes. I own them and they help me get better at this.

I haven’t published any of my fiction works yet. Most of it are short stories which fall into this odd gap where people don’t want to pay for them because they’re short (and you can get a lot of words from other authors for just 0.99) yet I don’t want to give them away after so much work went into them. I’ll think of something.

In the meantime, I’ll publish some smaller pieces of work here and the occasional article with thoughts about writing (not that you should listen to any of that, since I’m obviously still new to this).
